Theodore A. “Ted” DeRosier

Funeral services for former Cortez resident Theodore A. “Ted” DeRosier will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 4 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Empire Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Bishop Spencer Smith will officiate.

Visitation has been scheduled for Friday morning from 8:30 until service time.

Theodore A. “Ted” Derosier, age 88, of Pickerington, Ohio, formerly of Cincinnati, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

  Born August 28, 1923 near Cortez, Colo. he served as a gunnery instructor in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, and was a graduate of Colorado State University. He was a retired electrical engineer with GE and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Ted was preceded in death by wife, Betty Lou Derosier in 2007. He is survived by his children, Vernon Alex DeRosier of Utah, Cheryl Ann DeRosier of Germany, Donald Lee DeRosier of Trenton, Ohio, and Brenda Lou Janke and husband, Daniel of Pickerington, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ila Mae Derosier of Cortez.
